Activated Blend Filter This is the most effective filter you can buy. The Activated Blend Filter provides dual action filtration. The filter pads remove microscopic algae (non-clear water) and solids from your pond. Then the Activated Blend Filter provides the perfect medium for the natural removal of plant and animal wastes by promoting Nitrosommes Bacterial cultures. The Activated Blend Filter will outlast all other filters, working long after other types of filters become plugged and ineffective. Activated Blend Filters are simple to install and maintenance is minimal. They are designed as an aid to keep water clear in ponds that are basically balanced with plant and animal life. Installation is as easy as 1 - 2 - 3 Attach your filter to your pump: Connect the filter to your submersible pump with the supplied tubing. Fit one end of the tubing over the filter connection and the other end over the INTAKE of your pump. This should be a tight fit. If necessary, soften the tubing in hot water and is will slide on with ease. Place filter and pump in your pond: Place the pond filter in the bottom of the pond. Prop it up on bricks 4 inches above the sediment in very dirty ponds. Turn it on: Plug your pump into a properly grounded outdoor power receptacle. Your filter is now installed! Maintenance When first installed, the filter may need frequent cleaning. After the water has cleared, clean the filter only as needed.Due to natural buoyancy, a plugged filter has a tendency to float. This signals the filter needs cleaning.
